I think it's okay to excuse themselves, but the fandom shouldn't freak out if their favorite YouTuber has an immune system that doesn't always work so well. My bad.Īlso, I saw a comment on one of Mark's recent videos that was making the statement that YouTubers' apologies for being sick, sniffling and sneezing, etc. Why can't people just figure it out on their own ? Oh, wait.
And his last name is so obviously German. His brother looks more Korean than he does. He has like 8 videos where he says he's half Korean.
I think it would give him something new to be excited and passionate about.īTW, how many times is Mark going to tell everyone he's half German and half Korean? I realize that new fans subscribe all the time, but seriously. I'd try reminding or asking him to think about that again. Yes, I remember! I doubt he has touched it. I wonder if he's touched it since mentioning it, and if he's going to get back at it anytime soon. Over a word that suggests Tumblr users are a bit oversensitive and blow things out of proportion. Things went downhill from there and now a handful of the most popular fandom blogs are on hiatus. I only go looking for gifs when you're around. So basically, the latest shitstorm happened because Mark's fans, who were wounded over being called Tumblrinas and can't understand why he dares call himself a name that he won't let them use freely, are waiting for him to apologize for using a term describing an internet culture that celebrates being offended over nothing? If you want to use the age thing, it really is as simple as the kindergarten rule "treat others as you want to be treated". As though they can't understand how it really is okay for someone to refer to themselves in a certain manner with the perfectly acceptable expectation that complete strangers won't refer to them the same way if requested not to. And they're still holding Mark at least partially responsible for it. But it's just fine for those 14-year-olds who don't know better to write smut and draw him naked, thereby ignoring his pleas to keep things under PG-13 because they don't believe he was serious? Okay.įunny thing is, they're not sorry for the things they said, only for the cascade of shit that happened after. On top of that, said blogger is using the age excuse, telling Mark he should know better than to ask his fans not to call him Daddy when he does it to himself because they can't be expected to know better. So tracing it back, one blog is claiming responsibility for accidentally causing Hurricane Tumblrina with their emotionally charged rant at Mark after the Subnautica video.which others picked up on and took off with it, which prompted someone to make an antagonistic blog calling certain Markiplite Tumblr fans out (including them). It's not okay when random strangers come up to you and say 'shut up' because their idol says it. They are friends and both of them bust their balls and it's okay.
It took Jack to mention it in one of his Deadpool videos and Wade in his RYC. I don't think is that present anymore, luckly, but it's something that was occuring often. Totally true ! And even the 'daddy', like mentionned, it can be calling an animal and be like 'come to daddy!' As for the highlighted part, the 'shut up, wade' situation. It's like with a close friend you can call each other names but that doesn't give anybody else the right to do it. I've got no problem with him calling himself that, hell if he even wants to call himself Queen Latifah go for it! They shouldn't get butthurt because they can't call him that. The whole daddy thing, it's just weird coming from mostly underage girls. Thank you Mark for getting back into the groove! It's not enjoyable to watch someone who feels obligated to do something and not actually find any pleasure in it.
